If the allegation is deemed credible, the journal will initiate a formal investigation in accordance with the guidelines and flowcharts provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The author(s) will be notified of the allegation and given an opportunity to respond and provide clarification or supporting evidence within a specified timeframe. When necessary, the journal may seek advice from independent experts or refer the matter to the relevant institutions or research ethics committees.
Based on the outcome of the investigation, the journal may take appropriate actions, including but not limited to:
· rejection of the manuscript;
· request for correction or clarification;
· publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction;
· temporary or permanent restriction on future submissions from the author(s);
· notification of the author’s affiliated institution or funding body, if warranted.
